The alternative eco tour to speed whale, was albatross feeding!??
So we fled Kaikoura. However, it is smack in the middle of NZ equivalent of the great ocean road. Theirs is just as spectacular but has lots of seal colonies. We lost a few more hours of our lives but well spent.
Then up to picton for overnight.
